Session 19

What can I say?  We are back to exploration and travel, we ran smack dab right into the middle of a pack of evil wolves.  This has brought to my attention the need for proper barding for our mounts that me and Segrid have invested time and names in.

Moving to room 'Kingmaker AP'..

Welcome To Mayhem Gaming!
We are a community of over 500 gamers who meet to play and learn new RPG's and we welcome new players. Please visit and join our forums. Once you join check out The Portal and post there. Our lobby is G Rated and if you need any help contact an Administrator. Mayhem Gaming is not responsible for Minors on this public server. There may be adult themed games or adult oriented content.

You can also check out out recruiting games on our boards. If you're new, you can lurk games, but be sure to whisper with the GM to make sure it's ok. Our official server is Mayhem Gaming (NEW--Traipse) and our backup is Mayhem Gaming (1.8). Should the server go down move your games to our alternate server. A 1.8 Server is being maintained due to Traipse servers not being compatible with those running 1.8. This will be done until we can get everyone moved over. Please upgrade to Traipse.

(279) Baron Cairne: Its ok, I just wrote every fire spell in the game to my spellbook so we where going to get rid of you.
(285) Zelata: (( Sorry, but thanks to my Thematic Spell: Fire, I can now cast any spell in the sorcerer/Wizard spell list :) Each spell cast has the theme of flame :) ))
(280) DM: Hey, Z, what are your new Level 4 stats?

(285) Zelata: (( What do you mean? ))
(280) DM: What are your new HP, saves, etc.?

(279) Baron Cairne: I'm cairne.
(279) Baron Cairne: the guy that says DM in his name is the DM
(279) Baron Cairne: he's the guy who keeps stabbing people.
(285) Zelata: (( Wait, then why do you care about my character, and I never sent the e-mail to you ))
(276) Sir Segrid: That's me, dummy.
(279) Baron Cairne: with his dm stabby stick
(285) Zelata: (( Why do you care about my character? ))
(285) Zelata: (( Why do you care about my character?** ))
(279) Baron Cairne: because the rest of us are trying to play a story with rules.
(285) Zelata: The more you worry about mine, the less time you spend on yours. Gimmie a break, I make a few mistakes on it, and you act like I haven't played ever before.
(285) Zelata: Anyways, when are we starting?
(279) Baron Cairne: I've had my build written 4 levels in advance for some time.
(279) Baron Cairne: 6 levels if you accept the fact that I don't know what my level 9 feat is.
(276) Sir Segrid: ((The DM did ask for your stuff, and he's the one who posted about your email. Then you called him Cairne and Cairne started typing.))
(285) Zelata: (( Same as I, infact, I have her planned to level 20, the only set back, is the feat I took, the Thematic One, I was not expecting the DM to allow me to use it, now that he has, I have in fact had to remove a feat I had planned, and have begun replanning her as well))
(276) Sir Segrid: Starting would be nice.
(285) Zelata: Ok, I'm sorry, but I have no idea who is typing because all I see is and no name
(280) DM: ok, I don't know if Andraste will show up or not
(285) Zelata: Damnit, it didn't show up
(280) DM: Did you install TRAIPSE?
(285) Zelata: All I see is a bunch of random numbers/letters before the names
(285) Zelata: No I did not
(276) Sir Segrid: that's why then
(280) DM: This Mayhem Gaming server is running Traipse Ornery Orc server
(285) Zelata: I tried, but it didn't work on my computer
(280) DM: You need to install Traipse Ornery Orc client
(285) Zelata: I've been told OpenRPG works just fine on here
(286) Carden: Its does not
(285) Zelata: Cairne, send me a link to such in Skype pls
(280) DM: well, you see that the chat text doesn't appear right
(280) DM: Follow the instructions on the Traipse install web page
(285) Zelata: I would like a link pls :( My browser is not functioning propperly for some reason, I can't search, or go to webpages, I need links.
(280) DM: update your Python to 2.6.5, REBOOT, uninstall the older version of wxPython, install the indicated version,
(285) Zelata: I have done all that but Reboot
(285) Zelata: Brb .-.
(280) DM: then unzip the under C:|TRAIPSE
(280) DM: and run the Python setup file. It will create a new MyFiles for you. Then you should be able to run the Traipse client
(280) DM: (sigh)
(279) Baron Cairne: so exploration?
(286) Carden: indeed
(276) Sir Segrid: Yes, Baron.
(279) Baron Cairne: btw Segrid, you still have that cold iron longword right?
(280) DM:
(280) DM: Ok, it's now 15 Rova 4711 AR
(280) DM: The fledgling kingdom of Stagfall and its captal city, Boudica, have been established.
(280) DM: As you grow restless for the excitement of exploration, your thoughts return to the vast expanses of unexplored territory
(276) Sir Segrid: yes
(279) Baron Cairne: Ok I say we go east, as technically we should know what is west of us.
(280) DM: You notice several posters attached to the "bulletin board" in the town square.
(280) DM: Forest Drake Hunt:

Source: Wanted poster.

Task: Rumors of a dragon haunting the southern
Narlmarches are probably (hopefully) overstated. The
evidence indicates that the source of the rumors
is merely a forest drake. In any event, it's killing
folks and needs to be put down.

Completion: Find a forest drake, kill it, and return
to town with its head as proof.

Reward: The kingdom approves a reward of 1,200 gp
to the first group to successfully slay a forest
drake in the Narlmarches.
(280) DM: Troll Blood:

Source: Wanted poster.

Task: A local alchemist has a theory that trolls'
blood can serve as a catalyst during the creation
of healing potions. But until he gets a supply of the
blood, he won’t be able to prove his theory.

Completion: Deliver a waterskin filled with troll blood
to the alchemist. He doesn’t need more than one
waterskin, so one troll donor should do the trick.

Reward: The alchemist promises a reward of 1,200 gp
in potions (hunter's choice), deliverable about a week
after the blood is brought to him.

(282) Jeremiah: (( Welcome back ))
(276) Sir Segrid: .
(280) DM: Northern Howls:

Source: Wanted poster.

Task: A ferocious worg stalks the Kamelands!

His name is Howl-of-the-North-Wind, and he's
been eating bandits and hunters for years. With
the new influx of citizens into the Greenbelt,
the ravenous worg needs to be slain before he
acquires a taste for the citizenry!

Completion: Kill the worg and display his body at
town for the citizens to see.

Reward: The kingdom approves a reward of 1,200 gp
to the heroes who slay Howl-of-the-North-Wind.
(280) DM: Shamblesap:

Source: Wanted poster.

Task: Shambling mounds aren't as common in the
Greenbelt as they are in Hooktongue Slough, but
they’re not unheard of. A local herbalist has found
that the sap of a shambling mound works wonders
for cultivating certain medicinal herbs, and asks
for one shambling mound's worth of sap.

Completion: Deliver the sap to the herbalist.

Reward: The herbalist can pay 600 gp for the sap,
along with 3 potions of cure moderate wounds.
(279) Baron Cairne: I want a blanket made of worgskin
(289) No Name: Wait nvm
