Session 21st

I could not appear in this session but I understand that the party felt I had a craving for turtle soup and sought a source post haste, I assume a good time was held by all.

You can also check out out recruiting games on our boards. If you're new, you can lurk games, but be sure to whisper with the GM to make sure it's ok. Our official server is Mayhem Gaming (NEW--Traipse) and our backup is Mayhem Gaming (1.8). Should the server go down move your games to our alternate server. A 1.8 Server is being maintained due to Traipse servers not being compatible with those running 1.8. This will be done until we can get everyone moved over. Please upgrade to Traipse.

(371) No Name: Hey
(371) No Name: How do I change my name?
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (370) Ser Segrid...
(368) DM: Go under OpenRPG / Settings at the top
(368) DM: Chat tab
(368) DM: change the value across from Name
(353) Sir Jeremiah: type /nick newnamehere
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (371) No Name...
(366) Lady Andraste: Oh cool we killed something :3
(371) No Name: Alright
(371) No Name: damn
(371) Roderick: There we go
(366) Lady Andraste: So i am curious, do we have someone new?
(368) DM: I just sent you a character sheet, Roderick
(370) Ser Segrid: And remember, there's no need to be mean, beacause wherever you go.... there you are."
(368) DM: it should be at the top of your game tree
(371) Roderick: Ah I see it
(368) DM: Double-click to use it.
(368) DM: You should be able to fill in most of the fields.
(368) DM: To edit the skills, however, you have to select the node from the tree with the "design" pop-up menu option.
(368) DM: Expand the node in the tree down to the two skills lists and do a "design" on each one.
(371) Roderick: Do i fill it all in?
(368) DM: Just fill in what you need as you go for now
(368) DM: You can also make rolls manually using the dice buttons just above the chat text box
(370) Ser Segrid: or by typing them in square brackets
(371) Roderick: gotcha, how do I move about the screen?
(370) Ser Segrid: [1d20+12] => [17,12] = (29) for example
(368) DM: You have to click on the "Miniatures" tab to be able to move minis
(368) DM: See if you can move Andraste around
(368) DM: Selecting the whiteboard tab will allow you to draw on the map
(370) Ser Segrid: (you'll probably have to scroll down on the map to find her in the black below.)
(371) Roderick: Ahh, gotcha
(366) Lady Andraste: i'll be back
(371) Roderick: Fortitude (CON): 7
(368) DM: In the text box, enter left-bracket, 1, d, 20, +, 7, right-bracket
(368) DM: then when you send that to the chat, it does a roll
(371) Roderick: [1d20+7] => [14,7] = (21)
(368) DM: like that
(368) DM: you can type that in the text box in the character sheet node too
(368) DM: pressing the "SEND" button sends that text to the chat, doing any rolls included in the string
(370) Ser Segrid: Perception: [1d20+0] => [8,0] = (8)
(370) Ser Segrid: Fort: [1d20+0] => [17,0] = (17)
(370) Ser Segrid: Melee: Weapon [1d20+0] => [17,0] = (17) (Crit 20/x2) for [1d8+0] => [5,0] = (5) damage
(366) Lady Andraste: I need more AC somehow =c
(366) Lady Andraste: Segrid, whats your AC formula :3?
(370) Ser Segrid: Armor +7 Shield +4 Dex +3 Deflection +1 Dodge +1
(370) Ser Segrid: It helps to have dodge and shield focus
(366) Lady Andraste: +2 shield :3?
(366) Lady Andraste: Ahh ^_^
(366) Lady Andraste: Whats your gold like?
(370) Ser Segrid: I also spent all of my money practically getting my armor and shield enchanted to +1 each
(371) Roderick: How do i change the name of a weapon or such?
(371) Roderick: from wpn 1 to Lance
(366) Lady Andraste: I think next time we have downtime
(368) DM: open up the node tree and right-click on that node and select "design"
(366) Lady Andraste: Like to managa our city, I'd like to request we build a blacksmith's forge and request a suit of Full Plate
(368) DM: I wonder where Cairne is?
(368) DM: Carden emailed to say that he might be a little late again tonight
(374) Baron Cairne (enter): 18:32
(368) DM: hah, speak of the devil!
(370) Ser Segrid: Sprecken ze Baron
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (374) Baron Cairne...
(374) Baron Cairne: Hi, I have to go, just checking if Ic an game from here.
(371) Roderick: Attack: Attack[1d20+11] => [16,11] = (27)
(371) Roderick: Damage: Damage[[1d8+3] => [1d8+3x2]
(371) Roderick: Damage: Damage[(1d8+3)x2] => (1d8+3)x2
(368) DM: instead of x2 make it 2 d 8 + 6
(374) Baron Cairne: http://www.dndsheets.net/view.php?id=22933 people can play me if GM allows, but new players should be sufficient.
(374) Baron Cairne (exit): 18:33
(371) Roderick: Damage: Damage[2d8+6] => [3,3,6] = (12)
(371) Roderick: Damage: Damage[2d8+6] => [7,3,6] = (16)
(366) Lady Andraste: I just noticed I am taller than Cairne :3
(368) DM: Last time you defeated the Lonely Warrior inside his barrow in hex 7-7.
(368) DM: Then you spent the night camping.
(368) DM: Now it is early morning 17 Rova.
(370) Ser Segrid: Fort: [1d20+5] => [12,5] = (17)
** (353) Sir Jeremiah readied himself and his spells for the day **
(366) Lady Andraste: (Did we manage to find anything of use to our endeavors within the barrow?)
(370) Ser Segrid: Fort save for neg level
(366) Lady Andraste: [1d20+8] => [3,8] = (11) Fort Save
(366) Lady Andraste: (that doesn't look good =C)
(370) Ser Segrid: (make a second one for your second neg level, sweetie)
(371) Roderick: how do I place my miniature?
(366) Lady Andraste: [1d20+8] => [13,8] = (21) Fort
(366) Lady Andraste: Thats better ^_^
(368) DM: Do you have a jpeg picture for it?
(353) Sir Jeremiah: Fortitude (CON): [1d20+4+1] => [18,4,1] = (23) For Negitive level
(371) Roderick: Yeah, gimme a sec
(368) DM: It needs to be accessable from the Internet
(370) Ser Segrid: (so looks like 1 is gonna be permanent until we can get you a restoration)
(366) Lady Andraste: Whats the fort save :3?
(366) Lady Andraste: Maybe 11 is enough
(366) Lady Andraste: I highly doubt it though
(368) DM: Fort DC 18
(371) Roderick: http://imgur.com/EjzSv
(366) Lady Andraste: So I guess Andraste and Segrid both feel weakened
(371) Roderick: thats it it needs some cropping though
(368) DM: paste that into the box under the map on the Miniatures tab, then press the "Add Miniature" button
(370) Ser Segrid: yup, and maybe the others who haven't made their saves yet
(368) DM: right-click on your mini and select properties to reduce its size if it is too big
(368) DM: I can't access that path
(368) DM: Email me the .jpg file and I'll put it on my Tripod server
(371) Roderick: Where is my miniature?
(368) DM: I couldn't load it using that path
(371) Roderick: ah, i see
(366) Lady Andraste: So what do we do now guys?
(370) Ser Segrid: I say we take route 1, sticking to the hills as we go, and returning to Boudica early, do some building and send off for some scrolls of restoration (it
(370) Ser Segrid: (gonna be costly)
(366) Lady Andraste: I would propose we either continue on or head back to Stagfall and meet Brother Jhod to recieve his healings.
(368) DM: ok, now, right-click on your mini and select "to gametree"
(366) Lady Andraste: We can manage, so long as we don't explore anymore cracks
(371) Roderick: then?
(368) DM: Then whenever you need to re-display it (like after I reset the map and load a new one) just drag it to the map
(371) Roderick: How do I change the name?
(370) Ser Segrid: "Well, that was dangerous, no doubt, but I still think we should explore our southern border a bit more before returning. If these types of dangers are bodrering us, our citizens are not safe."
(368) DM: You need to right-click on it when it is on the map and select "properties"
(353) Sir Jeremiah: "True"
(368) DM: Put the picture back up and I can do it for you
** (370) Ser Segrid shivers. "I can still feel the ice in my veins where it struck me." **
(368) DM: I just sent the tree node to you
(368) DM: try dragging it out onto the map
(371) Roderick: Awesome
(368) DM: ok
(368) DM: you leave hex 7-7 (hexes are numbered by row and by column, with columns starting with the first full hex on the left)
(368) DM: and travel into hex 8-7, which is also a hills hex.
(370) Ser Segrid: Andraste, the Lonely dude had a +1 heavy wooden shield, if that'll help your ac situation
(366) Lady Andraste: (So we found nothing in the barrow :o?)
(368) DM: just the Lonely Warrior's Bastard Sword
(370) Ser Segrid: Perception [1d20+7] => [9,7] = (16)
(366) Lady Andraste: (It would help it by +1 yes. If no one opposes, I will like to take it)
(368) DM: You spend the day exploring hex 8-7 and discover that the Gurdin River flows across this hex.
(370) Ser Segrid: Nice, another river. Guess that's why they call this the River Kingdoms, huh.
(368) DM: As sundown approaches you set up camp for the night.
(366) Lady Andraste: Most perceptive
(370) Ser Segrid: (Healers will probably spend their heals if anyone is still wounded, right?)
** (366) Lady Andraste places the sword of the warrior in a saddlebag, intent on repairing it at a smithy should they return. **
(366) Lady Andraste: (I suppose they would)
(370) Ser Segrid: Set up our usual watches and catch some sleep
(370) Ser Segrid: head west in the morning
whispering to Mimwar, Mimwar, you are with Roderick in hex 8-6 at a shallow ford in the Gurdin River.
(368) DM: The night passes uneventfully.
(368) DM: The next morning, 18 Rova, you set out for hex 8-6.
(370) Ser Segrid: Perception [1d20+7] => [19,7] = (26)
(368) DM: It is another hills hex and the Gurdin River continues to flow roughly across the middle of it.
(370) Ser Segrid: "This will make good farmland once we've claimed it."
(368) DM: As you follow along the river, you notice it shallowing.
(368) DM: There appear to be two humanoids up ahead.
** (370) Ser Segrid spurs Halafos up a bit ahead of the rest, to get a better look. **
** (366) Lady Andraste rides along with Segrid on her white steed. **
(370) Ser Segrid: Tiberius slinks alongside.
(353) Sir Jeremiah: "Any idea who they are?"
(370) Ser Segrid: "Hello.?"
(366) Lady Andraste: "No, but let us approach with caution," she warns,
(368) DM: Roderick and Mimwar, you can add your minis
(368) DM: The verticle blue lines delineate the shallow fording region
(366) Lady Andraste: (Did people drop the game o-o?)
** (371) Roderick approaches on steed and looks over the river **
(366) Lady Andraste: (Now I feel like Zelata with these emotes)
(370) Ser Segrid: (Heh.)
** (371) Roderick calls out "You there! Who are you!" **
(362) Mimwar: ((Sorry, looking for an appropriate image))
(362) Mimwar: "Hey there! The name's Mimwar, do you happen to be the group of wonderful explorers I've heard so many things about?"
** (370) Ser Segrid looks at the stranger challenging them. Sizing him up, he replies. "Ser Segrid of Stagfell. And who might you be?" **
(370) Ser Segrid: (Stagfall?)
(366) Lady Andraste: " I am Lady Andrast of Stagfall, well met Mimwar," she responds.
** (362) Mimwar spurs his riding dog forward, towards the group. "Yes, yes, you must be them if you are truly Ser Segrid and Lady Andrast! Wonderful, wonderful!" **
** (371) Roderick calls out "A knight I see, I like to consider myself a knight of some degree, if thats not too pretentious of me. The names Roderick" **
(379) Sir Jeremiah (enter): 19:04
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (379) Sir Jeremiah...
(379) Sir Jeremiah: (9 back ))
(353) Sir Jeremiah (exit): 19:05
(366) Lady Andraste: "Well meet Roderick. You seem to seek us out for reasons unknown to me. I wish to inquire why,"
(370) Ser Segrid: "Well met, Roderick. And Mimwar. Behind us is Ser Jeremiah. I'm afraid our good Baron was recalled on important business."
(379) Sir Jeremiah: (( Open Crashed, last I saw was "Idont know lets be careful))
(371) Roderick: "I seek you out? That is news to myself, I am but a wanderer at the moment. that said, you do look formidable..."
(366) Lady Andraste: "Excuse my pretentiousness, my instincts proved wrong this time," she responds.
(370) Ser Segrid: "What brings you so far south of civilization, Roderick?"
(362) Mimwar: "Well, you certainly aren't seeking them out, but I am! Yes, I've heard many great things about you, I'm sure some of them are just rumor, but I expect that there are many that were true. You'll have to indulge me on them sometime, but nevermind that."
** (379) Sir Jeremiah watches the newcomers **
(368) DM: (that'll do for now)
(366) Lady Andraste: "Well, since you all happen to be wandering around, would you care to join us? We are exploring lands around here. I hope you all are handy with a blade,"
(366) Lady Andraste: if you do*
(371) Roderick: "No worries my lady, I came from the town of Absalom, but that was quite a while a go. As I said, I am simply a wanderer"
** (370) Ser Segrid allows Halafos and Tiberius a drink from the river if they're inclined. **
(371) Roderick: "It would be an honour, which way do you proceed?"
(366) Lady Andraste: "Further west, then we return to Stagfall. Have you been there before, Roderick? Mimwar?"
(370) Ser Segrid: "As my lady indicates, we are exploring this region for expansion. We travel westwardly for now, if that suits your intentions."
(371) Roderick: "Not yet"
(362) Mimwar: "Not yet I haven't, but I'm glad to go wherever your tales lead, so I have plenty of stories to tell."
(370) Ser Segrid: "Well, if you'd enjoy the hospitality, we offer you our companionship and the shelter of Boudica when we return."
(366) Lady Andraste: "That is surprising," she chuckles, giving a side way glance to Segrid.
(368) DM: Having introduced yourselves, you spend the rest of the day competing the exploration of this hex.
(371) Roderick: "Well met, let us be off"
** (370) Ser Segrid reddens ever so slightly. He waves Roderick and Mimwar over. **
(366) Lady Andraste: "A moment if you will, simply a formality," she syas, touching the temple of her head (Detect evil)
(368) DM: (no evil detected)
(366) Lady Andraste: "Tis done, welcome to the group," she says.
(362) Mimwar: [1d20+10] => [5,10] = (15) Spellcraft check to see what spell it is
(362) Mimwar: ((also to test how the dice like me today, apparently as much as last night))
(366) Lady Andraste: (Not a spell, so you can't spellcraft it)
(366) Lady Andraste: (she's simply a paladin :P)
(362) Mimwar: ((Can't spell craft a spell like ability, either?))
(362) Mimwar: ((Thought you could, but eh))
(366) Lady Andraste: (Nope, because there is no movement for you to discern)
(362) Mimwar: ((Ah))
(366) Lady Andraste: (Cant spellcraft a still spell either)
(370) Ser Segrid: As they travel, Segrid inquires of Roderick "Absalom, eh? I've heard many tales of the great city, center of the world and all that. Is it really as large as they say?"
(371) Roderick: Turns to Segrid "From what I remember, It is huge and vast, but I take no likings to it, it is in no way a great city"
(380) Haskel (enter): 19:17
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (380) Haskel...
(370) Ser Segrid: "No? I'm more of a countryside walker myself."
(370) Ser Segrid: "Although I have found certain benefits to civilized living." Segrid looks at Andraste, a small smile playing over his lips.
(370) Ser Segrid: (Hi Carden!)
(371) Roderick: I turn to look at Andraste "Not a chaste fellow I see?"
(380) Carden: (hey)
(366) Lady Andraste: "Not a matter of your concern, good fellow,"
(380) Carden: (Mimwar, Roderick....race/description/class)
(366) Lady Andraste: (Unless you guys are talking too far away for her to hear :P in which case nix that)
(362) Mimwar: ((Wayang, dark skin, black hair, blue eyes, short as a gnome and has a riding dog, and is a bard))
** (370) Ser Segrid reddens deeply. "That's a bold statement, and somewhat impertinent. It might call into question the Lady's chasteness. Such a challenge could not be answered lightly." **
(379) Sir Jeremiah: (( whats a wayang? ))
(371) Roderick: "Ah, very right, it is not a matter which sheate someone places their sword" I give a sly grin
(371) Roderick: Sheath
(366) Lady Andraste: (( one of the new races)
** (380) Carden keeps out of the chaste discussion **
** (366) Lady Andraste sneezes three times, and sniffles her nose. **
(362) Mimwar: (( http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/races-of-the-dragon-empires/wayang ))
(379) Sir Jeremiah: "Heh"
** (362) Mimwar is rather busy trying to decide what story he should tell first when camp is made. **
** (370) Ser Segrid pulls Halafos up to a stop. "Perhaps we should change the subject before swords have to be unsheathed and the skill of their users tested. And I do not speak metaphorically." **
(368) DM: After selecting a suitable campsite, you prepare supper and spend some time sitting around the campfire and continuing to get to know one another.
** (370) Ser Segrid almost immediately volunteers to gather wood once the site is selected. **
(371) Roderick: "These people allow no humour do they?" I say to mimwar
(368) DM: The air is starting to get cooler now as autumn approaches.
(368) DM: The leaves are starting to turn.
(362) Mimwar: "Perhaps they just need a bit of a comical warm up. I can tell some funny jokes, if you want."
(368) DM: (brb)
(366) Lady Andraste: "Ahh Autumm, the richness of crispby brown leaves shall soon fill the trees, welcoming Grandfather Winter," she nods, picking up a leaf and twirling it.
(370) Ser Segrid: Once he has gathered sufficient firewood, he returns to camp and begins building the fire. He pulls out some of the bear meat to warm over the fire once it's started. "So Mimwar, I didn't catch where you were from."
** (380) Carden pulls out some rations to eat. As he lends an ear to the newcomers' stories **
(379) Sir Jeremiah: ((brb))
** (362) Mimwar straightens slightly, his eyebrows twitching down for a moment before relaxing. "Well, you see, my home isn't exactly anything I like to think about, especially when there are so many better places to talk about." **
(370) Ser Segrid: "Fair enough."
(362) Mimwar: "Ah, thanks."
(362) Mimwar: "But really, if you want, I can tell lots of other stories, perhaps even sing a song or too. That would be a lot more fun for everyone, I'm sure."
(370) Ser Segrid: "If you are exploring, as the days turn colder, I would suggest a trip to the Hot Springs to the northwest. Aside from the smell, and the occasional oversized sorceress-eater, it is quite pleasant, and just the thing to warm your bones on a fall day."
** (380) Carden quirks **
** (380) Carden comments "Cairne could always use a jester" **
** (362) Mimwar grins widely. "That sounds like a terribly wonderful time, I certainly will look into it if I ever have the chance!" **
(370) Ser Segrid: "A song? That would be very nice."
(371) Roderick: "Yes dear, a song would lighten the mood"
(366) Lady Andraste: "Indeed, all we ever get is the occasional forest fire as entertainment."
** (370) Ser Segrid nods at Carden's comment, "Better tell the Baron that Mimwar is bard destined to sing of his greatness." **
** (370) Ser Segrid smiles warmly at Andraste "And not even that so much, now that the child is away at school." **
(379) Sir Jeremiah: "Just what we needed"
(362) Mimwar: "Ah yes, of course! I do hope I get to meet him as well, if only I had traveled a bit faster and sooner-- but yes, a song! Let me get right on that."
(370) Ser Segrid: "Well, my new friend, a song, if you please." Segrid begins wittling at a piece of wood he found while gathering the firewood.
(366) Lady Andraste: "Ah yes," she sighs a bit, remembrance in her eyes, she sits down on a log near Mimwar and waits for the song.
** (380) Carden smiles at Segrid replies "Indeed, like his ego isn't big enough" **
** (362) Mimwar clears his throat and does a flourish, before starting up a long, intricate song in Shadowtongue, prefering to sing only common tongue songs with musical accompiment. [1d20+12] => [14,12] = (26) Perform (Sing) **
(368) DM: (LOL, I have this picture of Flyn the Fine playing his mandolin in my mind.)
** (370) Ser Segrid , awed by the performance and its melody, stops whittling after the first few notes. As the song progresses, Andraste finds Segrid's hand in hers. **
** (379) Sir Jeremiah claps as the song ends "Well done" **
(370) Ser Segrid: "Very moving indeed."
(371) Roderick: I yell "Rousing Tale my Brother!"
(362) Mimwar: "Thank you, thank you."
** (366) Lady Andraste gives it a gentle squeeze, but keeps listening, before clapping, "That was wonderful." **
(370) Ser Segrid: "I shall have that melody dancing in my head this evening, surely."
** (380) Carden gives an applaud as well "Best I've heard in awhile" **
(362) Mimwar: "And there'll be more like it soon enough, hopefully songs about the lot of you-- the lot of us, now! They shall spread through the world, with enough luck."
(368) DM: Eventually the fire dies down and everyone turns in for the night.
(366) Lady Andraste: "I am good to get some rest, if you will excuse me."
(370) Ser Segrid: "Aye, I'll have the first watch, as usual."
(370) Ser Segrid: "Good night, milady."
(368) DM: The night passes unevenfully. You just hear the sound of an occasional acorn falling from a tree.
(366) Lady Andraste: "Alright, love. But keep your sword out when you come into the tent," she chuckles.
(371) Roderick: "I shall go to sleep as well, if anyone so desires to visit me in my tent" I wink at segrid
(368) DM: (LOL)
** (380) Carden shakes his head **
(366) Lady Andraste: "hmm, or maybe not, go get em' tiger, wrr," she growls playfully.
** (362) Mimwar laughs **
** (370) Ser Segrid smiles at Andraste. "As you wish." to Roderick, he chuckles "I'll send Tiberius straight away." **
(366) Lady Andraste: Good to go
(368) DM: The next morning is 19 Rova.
** (379) Sir Jeremiah chuckles then turns in for the night **
(368) DM: Continuing westward, you enter hex 8-5.
(370) Ser Segrid: (Tiberius, btw is Segrid's cheetah)
(370) Ser Segrid: Yup

An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls. At 5th level, and every six bard levels thereafter, this bonus increases by +1, to a maximum of +4 at 17th level. Inspire courage is a mind-affecting ability. Inspire courage can use audible or visual components. The bard must choose which component to use when starting his performance.

(370) Ser Segrid: (Goodnight milady)
(388) Lady Andraste: (I'll continue to aid another Segrid until the battle ends)
(362) Mimwar: "Come on now, enough flirting before we all get eaten! I want to have turtle soup tonight, so what the lady says!"
** (362) Mimwar fires another shot at the Turtle, [1d20+6] => [5,6] = (11) for [1d6+1] => [4,1] = (5) **
(388) Lady Andraste: "Practise what you preach, Minwar," she smiles.
(368) DM: The wreched beast snaps at the missile you fired, exposing his neck.
(362) Mimwar: "Hey, I'm just the voice of inspiration here!"
(368) DM: Carden whispers a prayer and let's go with his crossbow, striking the monster in the neck, killing it!
** (370) Ser Segrid grabs Andraste and kisses her. "Sorry, Minwar, but my Inspiration stands beside me." **
(362) Mimwar: "Fair enough, good friend, fair enough!"
(380) Carden: "I wonder how many old fisherman have been a meal for the old snapper"
** (388) Lady Andraste returns the kiss, "Save some for later, love" **
(368) DM: Old Crackjaw's legs continue to spasm for quite a while, but he's definitely dead.
(388) Lady Andraste: "Too many, Carden. I am glad we put a stop to it."
(371) Roderick: "That turtle must have gotten tired of human meat, I suppose"
** (370) Ser Segrid says to Roderick "Now be a good friend and help me drag this beast ashore." **
(380) Carden: "variety in one's diet I heard is a good thing"
(379) Sir Jeremiah: "Everyone still breathing?"
(371) Roderick: "For the most part"
(371) Roderick: [1d20] => [6] = (6)
(371) Roderick: 9
(371) Roderick: awful rolls today
** (370) Ser Segrid looks into Andraste's eyes "Not even slightly." **
** (370) Ser Segrid chuckles. "Well, I wonder what you can make of this beast, Ser Carden?" **
(371) Roderick: Let me give it another go
(371) Roderick: [1d20] => [20] = (20)
(371) Roderick: Still no luck, this beast must weigh tons!
(368) DM: Do you butcher the beast?
** (380) Carden looks it over(nature [1d20+7] => [7,7] = (14) to figure anything out about the snapper) **
(370) Ser Segrid: Kn Nature [1d20+9] => [10,9] = (19) survival [1d20+7] => [8,7] = (15)
** (379) Sir Jeremiah knows nothing of butchering meat so watches the others do it **
(368) DM: Old Crackjaw was an enormous hookjaw turtle (a more carniverous version of the alligator snapping turtle.)
(362) Mimwar: Know Nature [1d20+9] => [9,9] = (18)
(368) DM: While removing its guts, you feel something small but hard in its stomach.
** (370) Ser Segrid checks it out **
(368) DM: You remove a gem.
(370) Ser Segrid: .
** (370) Ser Segrid hold the gem up to the light, cleaning it off. **
(370) Ser Segrid: Appraise [1d20+2] => [4,2] = (6)
(368) DM: It's a pretty blue gem.
(370) Ser Segrid: "Huh. I bet the Baron would know what this is worth."
(370) Ser Segrid: "Well, little gem, you're headed towards a much better place than you were an hour ago."
(368) DM: (it's a magical elemental gem (water))
(379) Sir Jeremiah: (( Could I roll Know Arcana for that bit of info? ))
** (380) Carden decides to cast magic **
(368) DM: yes
(380) Carden: (detect magic)
(379) Sir Jeremiah: Class Skills: Knowledge Arcana: [1d20+10] => [18,10] = (28)
(368) DM: It radiates magic.
(368) DM: well, we'll stop here for tonight
(379) Sir Jeremiah: "That my friend is an elemental gem"
(368) DM: with you camping in hex 8-5.
(368) DM: Note that you can only travel directly to hex 8-4 via boat since the lake spans the hex boundary.
** (370) Ser Segrid hands it over to Jeremiah. "You probably know more about it than me. Know how to use it?" **
(379) Sir Jeremiah: "Of course"
(370) Ser Segrid: Should we plan on heading back to Boudica and doing more KB stuff next week or explore around the lake and back up?
(379) Sir Jeremiah: (( what does an elemental gem do ?))
(370) Ser Segrid: (you throw it on the ground, destroying it and releasing an elemental)
(362) Mimwar: [[ When the gem is crushed, smashed, or broken (a standard action), a Large elemental appears as if summoned by a summon nature’s ally spell. The elemental is under the control of the creature that broke the gem. ] => [ When the gem is crushed, smashed, or broken (a standard action), a Large elemental appears as if summoned by a summon nature’s ally spell. The elemental is under the control of the creature that broke the gem. ]
(370) Ser Segrid: (CL 11, Summon NA IV)
(370) Ser Segrid: (V rather)
(379) Sir Jeremiah: "When you smash it an elemental will appear and serve you for a time"
(371) Roderick: We should save that, I've heard tales of those mystical gems, theyre more valuable than gold
(370) Ser Segrid: "If you say so. I'll leave the magics up to the experts."
(362) Mimwar: ((I have a rather annoying headache, so I'm going to head off for the night, I'll see you guys next week. :D It was fun~))
(379) Sir Jeremiah: "Mind if I hold on to it?"
(370) Ser Segrid: "Be my guest, Ser Jeremiah."
** (379) Sir Jeremiah puts in his belt pouch 'thank you kindly" **
(362) Mimwar: Disconnecting from server...
(362) Mimwar (exit): 21:18
(370) Ser Segrid: ((It'd be cool to have a bunch of those in the pommel of a sword. Need an insant ally? Crack!))
(370) Ser Segrid: Any opinions on explore vs KB next week?
(379) Sir Jeremiah: (( lol or as sling stones ))
